Second outlet just opened few days ago at Sunway Pyramid. So, my friend and I were taking the exit from Parkson to approach my car. But then, 'Coffee for RM 1.00' we heard. Again, we bumped into a banner located outside of the outlet: Click here to view the opening promotion banner.

We went for a try. Environment was new, like fine dining....

Affogato = Espresso + Vanilla Ice Cream.

Before I pour the whole little cup of espresso into scoop of ice-cream, I had a sip of that highly concentrated coffee. Yums~

Sorry for the long hiatus. I've been very busy like a bee with my career life. This cause the lack of time updating my blog.

This was the last trip with my coursemates before I make my way to KL to pursue my career life.

We opted for Grand Tour (RM 22.00 per head) which comes with challenging 'obstacles' when you entered in the middle of cave.

I have no choice but to purchase a Sealed Bag to protect my gadgets and other belongings from water.

The journey from Kampar, Perak to Butterworth, Penang consumed almost 4.5 hours of my brother and my life by train.

Stopped at Ipoh KTM station for 30 minutes.

Wonder which culprit would want to steal the coach air freshener.

I don't understand why some railway station approaching to northern peninsular Malaysia doesn't seems to be railway station to me.

Took a ferry to Penang Island.

Android 2.2 (Froyo) on Samsung Omnia i900

I've came across a forum here which allows Samsung Omnia i900 owners (I'm proud to be one of them) to boot Samsung Omnia i900 with Android 2.2.

I followed the instructions mentioned in this website. Then tested it out on my Omnia and run it...

Screen locked!

I've tried it for an hour or two.However I encountered few problems:

It drains my battery deadly
It lags
Keyboard not accurate (or maybe due to my screen which is less sensitive)
It freeze sometimes
I can't terminate BROWSER and always stuck at black page. Can't return to home screen.
Unable to search for my telco network
Wi-Fi not working (not sure about bluetooth)
When I soft reset my Omnia, it will boot up Windows Mobile 6.5 (that's great thing) BUT when I turn off the back light (or leave my phone on standby), backlight will light up again automatically after few seconds no matter what.
Lastly, my Omnia was HOT!

Enough said.

I'm not really disappointed but somehow I felt impressed and curious that I was able to discover Android interface on my Omnia.

Farewell toTertiary Education

Another part of my life has come to a conclusion of a chapter. For the past three years, I've been pursuing my tertiary education. Here's out it went...

I was being offered by UTAR for Bachelor of Information Technology in Computer Engineering. 3 years degree course. Therefore left Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for Kampar, Perak on 15 May 2008. Click here.

This is the place where I stayed. Comparing this picture in year 2008 with today, it has changed a lot. Can't believe I've stayed here for the passed 3 years. Click here.

I cycled to campus. Even cycle for meal and entertainment with my housemates and course mates. And that's how I got a darker complexion. Click here.

Worst moments I had during my tertiary education, ASSIGNMENTS! There was this freaking assignment that I have no choice but to skip breakfast and lunch. Only as late as 3.00p.m., I can eat a horse up and off to bed around 4.00 p.m. Snoozed MAX!

Cycling Trip (Scouting) to Tronoh Mines & Tualang

Another great day to have a cycling trip after dreadful final (one and only last) assignment in my degree studies has come to an end. Scouting using our bicycle to discover a proper route that could lead us to the destination we longing for few weeks.

This time, I managed to bring along my secondary school friend, Cherng Yow. From Kampar > Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines > Tanjung Tualang > Kampar.

On the way to Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines.

We eventually wasted some time when we couldn't get our way to Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines using 'shortcut'. 'Shortcut' in other words, cycle at offroad or less traffic/vehicle.

Had no choice and made a U-turn to Kampar KTM Station and cycled the stretch of main road leading us to Teluk Intan. Next, turn into junction and made our way directly to Kampung Baru Tronoh Mines.

5 kilometers to go.

Bloody satisfied and proud traveling to such isolated place by BICYCLE!

From there on, scouting continued by making our way to Tanjung Tualang. The cycling journey has brought us back to Kampar safely...

Irvin: That lecturer asked me who is Tang Mar Derk. And I had really no idea who the hell is Tang Mar Derk.

Marco: Eh hello, that's ma real name!

Irvin: What the fruit??!! I didn't know your real name is Tang Mar Derk! Why did you introduce me your English name, MARCO when we first met yesterday?

Marco: It would be easier for other people to call me with that name! What about yours? IRVIN...

Irvin: Hey, that's my real name given by my parents the moment I was born! Yours wasn't real English name. Instead, it's a NICKNAME!

One introduces me only with his real English name ONLY. (That makes me wonder whether he has a father or not)

Some even go further by replacing their names with Japanese (Korean as well) kawaii names and those ker ai names (in which you inherited from China or Taiwan culture)

Stressful weeks when it comes to a huge loads of assignments and tasks to complete and submit on time. Among them: -

My Final Year Project (FYP) full report. *Submitted*

Burnt 3 copies of my FYP full report in it. I don't want to see my FYP reports ANYMORE in future!

These are the comments given by my lecturer during evaluation of my speeches. I've 'pinned' them on my room wall. Public Speaking and Oral Presentation coursework. *Accomplished*

Computer Law and Ethics Assignment, SUBMITTED!

And I'm now down with 1 particular mini project that encourage more and more drastic change towards my face (due to lack of sleep and rest)...

That requires the above book for reference (I find it quite useless!).

Sadly neither of my friends are so free or fit enough to go volunteerism run. That made me decided not to go for it as well. However, I'm really looking forward for A CYCLING TRIP!

Getting my hair dyed for the first time ever in Kampar. Don't think I will go for second time. Still prefer hair salon back in my hometown.

While I'm about to "graduate" soon, I've prepared my own resume (CV) and started to look for job. All the best in me...

With four more weeks to go before my final exams begin. Time really flies.

I nearly forgotten that I've paid RM 10.00 to participate Volunteerism Run. I had no idea why I wanted this. But I just want to spice up my Uni Life with sweet memories before it comes to an end soon.

It's a Run not Cycle. Just hope I'll be free and energetic on that day (10 April 2011). It will be in an "isolated" place instead of Kampar town.

If I can't participate, at least I contributed RM 10 for charity and get my free T-shirt.

This was the photo (Group 1 of Computer Engineering course May 2008 intake)selected for display for convocation. We were not given a photo of it by UTAR staff. Instead, we captured this image projected on wall. Also, get to choose our own background pictures for it.

And that's where my improved English came from, "Tea MEATING with president". I can't believe it!

Apart from that, PC Fair event was held during that week. I bought...

Keyboard protector that perfectly fits my notebook keyboard buttons. RM 12 gone for that.

Dettol hand sanitizer with tissue/facial cotton to wipe of oils and dirts.

Minyak Kapak, to remove dirt from previous bling bling stickers.

Any plastic card and most important of all, pen knives.

Hair dryer.

Sufficient amount of 3M Dinoc Black CA-421 Carbon Fiber Sticker.

It took me 3 hours as first-timer to apply 3M Dinoc Black CA-421 Carbon Fiber Sticker onto my Nokia 9300i, secondary screen display part.

Glad to be satisfied with my first attempt!

The ugly part which I can't stick it well, corner part.

Even burnt my fingers due to exposure of heat from hairdryer.

Overall, I'm impressed of my skill as first timer.

There goes the all new final semester for the first week...

Participated blood donation campaign and got this goodie bag.

Goodie bag comes with sweet food stuffs.

I always forget to bring the "Red Booklet" and end up receiving this piece of paper as record.

My second time donating blood in UTAR but fourth time participating blood donation.

Witnessed how "disgusting" it was my course mates went to donate their blood on the next day.

Somehow, I came across a booth about this "derma organ thingy" and I did not hesitate to ask the person in charge about FAQ. I wouldn't be that stupid to waste my time sitting alone waiting for my course matess to donate blood.

When you bye bye:
--> you can donate whatever organs, tissues and etc.
--> subject to your family's decision whether they allow parts of your organs / tissues to be donated
--> your organs / tissues are examined first before donated

When you're still alive:
--> you can only donate one of your kidneys ONLY TO YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS

This time, I received not only hopeless KFC coupons but another 20% off Pizza Hut coupons. I found out Pizza Hut coupons worth to use BUT not until my two eye balls read this...

What pissed me off again was "VALID FOR PENINSULAR MALAYSIA" again. Why can't I enjoy this coupons in East Malaysia?

Since I was too free and so many days to go before returning KK, I traveled to Ipoh...

Waiting for "rotten" bus (I'm not a spoilt brat) from Kampar to Ipoh.

Saw this awesome truck passing through but not sure heading to where.

Upon arrival at Medan Kidd, Ipoh...

Actually the bus has only 1 door for passenger to get in. And it's in light blue color. And they started to implement new system...

1. Insert exact amount of bus fare for your destination into this "so-called donation" box.
2. Then only the bus driver will key in your destination to print out receipt/ticket.

From Medan Kidd Bus Station to Jaya Jusco for RM 2.00.

The most common issue in Malaysia, if you don't prepare small change for public transport like bus / taxi, the driver would go mad at you. NO change will be return or NO ticket issue unless you prepare a proper amount.

The good thing about this new bus, Perak Transit bus is fully air-conditioned, comfy and I feel so syiok! got turbo lagi tu...

The new bus comes with reverse camera, can you spot the monitor?

After shopping and enjoying the great food, I waited for bus, also Perak Transit...

This bus still using the old fashion way, giving out tickets once you have you have paid him. The driver was too pro enough that he didn't turn on monitor (Arrow) for reversing guide.

It's like so many weeks I've abandon this blog. I need to prepare for 1 and only subject for final exam.

Nothing much happen...

Looks new but it's a used phone. Everyone will give the "huh?" look.

Silly recycle bins around Westlake Homes being abused for other purpose.

Damn! After exam on 11 December 2010, I'm so bloody free. And my flight back to KK is on 24 December 2010.

Help my brother to flashed a new ROM, Windows Mobile 6.5 into his Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.

Comes with HTC Sense UI.

I've got this door gift from one company during career fair in UTAR.

When it comes to Food...

RM 4.30 per box! It's tasted so "premium". Love it.

From pasar malam, keropok ubi kayu or I can say it's a home-made Pringles!

This tasted like fried onions and star anise (Google it to know what is star anise).

Tasteless YAM dish. RM 1.50 per plate.

When it comes to Entertainment...
Went to Ipoh Parade for movie + window shopping with my housemates, Chee Siong and Kim Seong.

NEVER watch SKYLINE! Pissed off. Just watch the trailer of it below will do...

And our trip to Ipoh wasn't that all. Bumped into Mr. Leong, my lecturer a lot of times. Surprisingly, we even watch the same movie...

Alhonga Bicycle Brake Pads

I've got this bicycle brake pads few weeks ago. Well, I bought it online from this website. You can't get good bicycle accessories in most bicycle shops in Kampar. Even if it does, the price of it will be a "neck-strangling".

I just love best braking performance of my bicycle. I came across this brake pads from Alhonga, Taiwan-made (I trust Made in Taiwan more than Made in China).

RM 15 for both brake pads above.

Front bicycle brake pads.

Rear bicycle brake pads.

Compatible with V-brakes.

Seriously, I was damn damn satisfied with my front brakes performance now. Except for the noise emitted once I hit the front brakes.

I've tried to eliminate the noise by applying a little oil onto my bicycle rim and wiped it off with dry clothe. Noise reduced but braking performance drop a little. Just hope I do some "warm up & burn out" on it over a period of time.

Week 3 & 4 in UTAR Oct 2010

What pissed me off what this campaign called "Give Me 5" in UTAR. I think it's useless and hopeless. There are so many banners hanging around UTAR compound...

Will you drive according to this message through this campaign? UTAR should stop providing ample of parking space instead.

The whole campus is hot and humid. How many of you simple enter an empty rooms and turn on air-con?

Why the organizer of this campaign still putting up so many banners around UTAR? Aren't you suppose to use less papers?

How many of you adopt a plant? For me, dream on. There's no trees for me to adopt in UTAR because of this picture below....

Can you see how many trees where chopped down for parking spaces?

Why would I want to picked it up? If I were to pick, I'm not that free to entertain DSA officers with "puik" attitudes. Ignorance is Bliss.

We moved on towards ground floor...

After spending 2 hours on the tin dredge, we entered this mini museum displaying pictures of the past. I did took picture but lazy to post it here. So, time to start cycling back to Kampar.

On the way back to Kampar, we pulled over at the bus stop, the Tg. Tualang <=> Malim Nawar bus stop...

Cycling Trip to Tin Dredge Heritage, Bt. Gajah [Part 2]

Strange enough that there's no tour guide here. So we explored this tin dredge by our own like nobody's business. All we did was investigate and made assumptions as if we were Historians.

That was why RM 5 entrance fee per person worth dying for. I'm proud enough (cipta Sejarah Malaysia terunggul) if I drown to dead when this tin dredge sink on that day.

Hence, for this post there's nobody's faces in all pictures. A boring post. Only machinery, artifacts and bla bla...

The sinking part. It's going to sink fully someday.

Cycling Trip to Tin Dredge Heritage, Bt. Gajah [Part 1]

Previously, I did mentioned that my cycling trip came across such place...

Warisan Kapal Korek (Tin Dredge Heritage).

6 November 2010, a group of 5 - Christopher, Kah Keong, Mike, Wai Meng and me had another cycling trip to this place.

The journey took about 1 hour and here we are...

Arrived before 9.00 a.m.

Everyone were wondering why in the world it's still not open? My GPS stated it opens at 8.30 a.m. daily.

The ticketing counter, displaying visiting hours and craps. Fancy faded word.

I thought I can buy a postcards as souvenir but HELL NO GIFT SHOPS!

While waiting for it to open...

Grumble~ (Can you spot how obvious was their complexion?)

We even dialed (for-the-don't-know-how-many-toot-toot-times) the number stated on the signboard. But all we heard was the ~Rings~ inside the mini museum. No one answer the call. We were greet by two dumbos and 1 rude Chinese guy. I'll try to get his picture and post it. Kah Keong paid the entrance fee for us while we parked our bicycles. RM 5.00 per person and the ticket turned out to be...

The journey of kilometers has finally brought a group 8 traveled all the way up to Kellie's Castle. Everyone were exhausted and yet satisfied upon arriving such tourist spot...

Lucky monkey didn't try to puncture some Christopher's wheels. Else, he'll end up walking back to Kampar.

This was the only view I can snapped. Because of Mike needs to rush back to Kampar to join his other gangs to KL, we can't get the chance to enter the castle.

This monkey non-stop entertaining us by his pose. I wondered what will happen if the side mirror suddenly jatuh.

ExploRace II? We've seen quite a number of cars with such sticker over there It could be a competition going on. They are traveling to the castle by car but we the group of 8 traveled there by bicycle. How proud are we then?

We started our journey back to Kampar...

We pulled over at a flyover to wait for Captain SLOWs again and again. This time, at Batu Gajah's KTM station...

Exhausted but excited look.

The UPs and DOWNs throughout the journey made everyone tired shifting bicycle gears for optimum speed. Heavy breathing and fast heart pumping indeed.

Resulted some to walking while pushing their bikes along.

And it's back to single carriage way...

Pulled over at one of Pondoks a.k.a shelter to wait for Captain SLOWs AGAIN! Hahaha...

Then here came the RAIN suddenly! We were forced NOT to continue cycling. It was quite heavy rain and we managed to stay under the bus stop nearby. The Tanjung Tualang <=> Malim Nawar junction bus stop (All mobile phones, cameras and relevant gadgets were "confiscated" and placed into plastic bag to avoid rain contact)[That's the reason I can't snap any photos that time].

Half and hour later, rain totally stopped not until in the middle of nowhere, drizzling but not so heavy rain. We continued with slower speed.

To end this post, around 2 p.m. on 30 October 2010, we finally arrived safely in Kampar. By BICYCLES! Well done everyone! The journey of 66.07 km has brought us back to Kampar safely and also memories.

Cycling Trip [Part 3]

Third part of my cycling trip, we entered Batu Gajah a.k.a. Elephant Rock. How did the name come from? It's here.

I thought the dome of the mosque is chrome in colour. Not until I found out...

We cycled around the town in the midst of looking for a place to eat...

I wondered why such parking system is not applicable in KK town? I'll continue to throw my parking fees.

Cycling Trip [Part 2]

Right, we arrived at Tg. Tualang for stopover just to get Chin Seng's bicycle fixed. So we explored around this so-called sleepy town to me.

While cycling around this town to look for workshops, Tg. Tualang is well-known with banyak Restoran Makanan Laut. But none of these Seafood Restaurants open during the day...

We went to motorcycle workshop but were told to get spare parts in hardware shop instead...

Parked like nobody's business.

Sadly to see this. My "gearbox" protector was broken and fallen in the middle of nowhere. I need to be careful with my trousers to avoid dirty grease.

Cycling Trip [Part 1]

My whole body was aching because of this trip. My whole face was like a burnt corpse. I'm so dead tired MAX. Somehow, it was like an adventurous cycling trip and I never regret participating it. 8 person including me turned up for this trip.

It all started when we first gather at House No. 1409 for starting point. About to depart by 7.00 a.m. SHARP but force to wait for this firstly declared person as "Captain SLOW". Let the pictures and captions explains my Cycling Trip [Part 1].

We began our journey by taking the "Jalan Mati" that led us to offroad...

I came across a banner, Kursus Perkahwinan.

We took a break before heading out to the road leading to Tg. Tualang.

Cycling along the stretch of road was rather boring with no buildings and etc. So I just snapped here and there some pictures...

After the boring stretch of road (even smell of cow dungs and urine XD), here came civilization!

We opted to go Tg. Tualang first.
